Meet the Owner: Holden Betts

Born and raised in Sparta, Wisconsin, Holden Betts is the owner and operator of Betts Utility Contractors LLC. A proud husband and father of two, he enjoys spending time with his family on their property just outside of Sparta. Since 2015, he has worked in nearly every corner of the underground utility industry including water, sewer, telecom, natural gas, and electric distribution.

Holden launched his own business in 2024 after nearly a decade in the field. He started with one hydrovac truck and a clear goal: offer a safer, more precise digging option in an area where underground utilities are only getting more complex. Today, he remains fully hands on, quoting, driving, and doing the work himself.

Why We Started This Business

Betts Utility Contractors was not built from theory. It came from real world experience. After years on job sites, Betts saw how outdated digging methods were leading to damage, delays, and avoidable costs. At the same time, reliable hydrovac services were hard to find in rural Wisconsin.

As utility right of ways became more congested, safe digging alternatives were not just smart, they were necessary. That is where we come in. We offer trenching, excavation, utility pole digging, catch basin cleaning, and remote hose services that prioritize safety, accuracy, and respect for what is underground.
